Branson, Missouri, is a thriving place and a popular tourist destination. The city’s popular Highway 76 Strip, home to more than 100 live shows, draws in locals and vacationers alike. In addition to the live entertainment, there’s plenty to do and see in downtown Branson.

This area of the city is actually historic downtown Branson, first established in 1888. Downtown is where most visitors head to experience the many delights of Branson. There are more than 80 businesses, shops, and restaurants in this district. These include Branson’s oldest building, its first theater, and the site of this music town’s first show — the country and gospel extravaganza Baldknobbers Jamboree.

Trolleys are a notable part of early transportation, and Branson offers the Discovery Trolley that runs from the downtown district to the popular Branson Landing area. Best of all, riding the Discovery Trolley is free!

    For a more modern experience in the heart of the Ozarks, there is the Branson Landing. This destination lies along the shores of pristine Lake Taneycomo, and one of its most prominent features is the scenic 1.5-mile boardwalk that borders the lake. On the boardwalk, both locals and visitors enjoy daily shows from the spectacular water attraction, featuring fountain jets and laser lights combined with music and fire cannons.

    Of course, Branson Landing also features shopping and dining, with more than 100 retail stores and restaurants to choose from. There are plenty of waterfront dining experiences, along with waterfront accommodations for visitors to Branson, and popular outlet stores like the Bass Pro Shop and Belk Department store complete the Branson Landing atmosphere.
